Woman sentenced for sex with teen

Martha Thibodeau, 29-year-old New Hampshire, has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of felony sexual assault stemming from episodes with a 14-year-old boy and has been sentenced to three and one-half to seven years in prison on one count of sexual assault and suspended consecutive sentences on each of six additional counts.

Thibodeau admitted Monday in Strafford County Superior Court to engaging in sexual acts with the boy on more than one occasion between August and November 2009.

According to two of the indictments issued last year in the case, the victim’s sister walked into Thibodeau’s apartment on a day she engaged in sexual contact with the boy.

Thibodeau cannot have any contact with her victim and no unsupervised contact with any individuals under the age of 16 excluding her own children. She must complete the state sexual offender program as a condition to obtain her parole, for which she will be eligible after 31/2 years in prison, AND she also must register as a sex offender for the remainder of her life.
In a strange twist, Judge Wageling apologized to Thibodeau for the "terrible disservice" done to her in life. Citing confidentiality, Judge Wageling refused to discuss the "disservice."
