Youth pastor's wife pleads guilty to sexual abuse

Melissa B. Jones, 29-year-old woman from Decatur, Illinois, has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse of a 16-year-old boy who attended the church where her husband was a youth pastor.

Mrs. Jones was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of the boy she was counseling because of his admitted addiction to online pornography. She was sentenced to two years probation for the offense, which is a Class 4 felony. She must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

16-year-old boy described how he had been attending church at Salem Baptist for several years and that he met Jones while attending a church camp.

The boy stated they would talk on the phone, text each other on cell phones and see one another at counseling sessions. Jones was helping him with his computer pornography addiction and problems he was having at home and at school. During this time, the boy stated he and Jones began flirting and that on Sept. 19 he went to Jones' house and they flirted, touched and fondled each other. On Sept. 23 they had intercourseand had sexual relations two to five times a week after that date.
