High School teacher pleads guilty to Sexual Conduct with Minor‎

Jennifer Lynn Whiting, 35-year-old, former English teacher at Tucson Rincon High School, Arizona, has pleaded guilty to felony sexual conduct with a 16-year-old student and faces at least one year in jail and will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Female teacher was arrested in June 2010 on allegations of having an inappropriate relationship with 16-year-old male student. At the it was alleged that Whiting had at least sent sexual photos of herself to the alleged victim via text message. Whiting came to the attention of authorities when the father of the alleged victim contacted Child Sexual Assault Detectives about a possible inappropriate relationship between Whiting and his son. Whiting left her minor children at home early this morning to meet the victim and then detectives took her into custody.

In July 2010 a Pima County grand jury indicted teacher Jennifer Whiting on four counts of sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of involving or using minors in drug offenses and one count of furnishing obscene or harmful items to minors. The indictment alleged that Whiting had sexual contact with the boy four times between May 26 and June 23 and also involved the boy in an undisclosed drug offense three times during that time span.

Whiting will be sentenced in December.
