Teacher accused of sexual encounters with students during school hours

Kimberly Lake Smith, 36-year-old health and PE teacher at Galeton High School in Galeton, Pennsylvania, has been accused of engaging in sex with two students during school hours.

Smith, also known as Kimberly Davis,  of Fletcher Lane in Wellsboro, was charged earlier this month with endangering the welfare of a child as a third-degree felony and endangering the welfare of a child as a first-degree misdemeanor. In addition, she was also charged with two counts of corruption of minors, also a first-degree misdemeanor, and two counts of intimidating witnesses or victims as a second-degree misdemeanor.

Smith is accused of kissing students, letting them touch her breasts and touch her genitals, both through and underneath her clothing. She also allegedly rubbed genitals at least one of the students trough his clothing. Smith also twice asked a victim not to tell anyone about the activity and to lie about it. The alleged acts happened  on school property between  august 2010 and January 2012.

Court documents show that two male students from the high school were interviewed as part of the current investigation that  also revealed that Smith may have engaged in similar sexual  misconduct with other students through her teaching career from 1999 to 2012. In the criminal complaint, Galeton Borough Police Chief Christopher Brackman  attributed his accusation to "records" that revealed the conduct, though the document did not specify what those records were.
