Swanton teacher found guilty in sex case

Michelle Blosser, 44-year-old former psychology teacher at Swanton High School, in Swanton, Ohio, has been found guilty of attempting to engage in sexual conduct with a student and sentenced to one year of community control and ordered her to serve 10 days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.

Blosser was arrested in March 2012 after she was accused of engaging in sex with a male student. At the time she was indicted on one count of sexual battery. Rumors at the school led to the investigation of Blosser. Authorities said she attempted to engage in sexual conduct in February with a student at Swanton High, where she taught psychology, sociology, and advanced placement psychology.

Fulton County Common Pleas Judge James Barber also ordered Blosser to pay prosecution costs, receive a mental health assessment, and have no contact with the victim. If she does not abide by those conditions, she could be ordered to serve a year in prison.

According to Principal Steve Gfell “Mrs Blosser wasalways willing to go the extra mile to help our students be successful. She had a great rapport with our students, and her classes were always in high demand. In fact, this year, so many students signed up for her psychology class we had to create an extra section of the course to accommodate the demand.”
