Junior High School Teacher Gets Prison for Sex With Student

Stacy Stracener, 37-year-old former science teacher at the Cabot Junior High North, Cabot, Arkansas, has been sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender.

According Prosecuting Attorney, Stracener was sentenced to 15 years in prison with nine of them suspended and she must serve at least two years before becoming eligible for parole.

Stacy Stracener pleaded guilty to 11 counts of First Degree Sexual Assault and 2 counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault, same charges that were filed when she was arrested. Initially she had pleaded not guilty to those charges. According to the police report, Stracener was the boy’s teacher for one period when he was in 7th grade at Cabot Junior High North. The report also states that the families of both the victim and Stracener are friends. The mother of the victim turned to police when she was lookng at phone records and noticed ‘a lot of texts between her son and a family friend, Stacy Stracener.’ It was claimed that the teen boy and Stracener had exchanged over 40 text messages in a three day period, starting as early as 6 a.m. and went as late as midnight. The exact content of the alleged text messages have not been released, other than the victim admitted to his mother that ‘Mrs. Stracener had sent him texts telling him what she wanted to do to him.’
During an interview with authorities, the victim admitted that there was sexual contact and intercourse with the teacher — 13 different sexual encounters.

Stracener was also ordered to pay about $700 in fines, not to have any contact with the victim and to register as a sex offender for at least the next 15 years. Her teaching license has already been suspended.
