Female teacher gets prison for sex crime

Kelly O’Rourke, former coach at Mount St. Mary Academy, Little Rock, Arkansas, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with all but 120 days suspended after she pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault.
O’Rourke was arrested in June 2012 after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a student, who is now an adult. The victim told her parents she had a relationship with the coach since 2010. She was 16-years-old when the alleged relationship began. O’Rourke was charged with first degree sexual assault.
Kelly O’Rourke must register her DNA and register as a sex offender. She has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Another teacher from same school, Kathy Griffin, is accused of failing to report the relationship. In the affidavit, Griffin says she didn’t report the relationship “for the good of the school.”
